Hi, I intend to switch from home to Google to homekit, because both me and our GF have Apple products (Iphone, Mac, Ipad, watch). Currently, I have the Nest thermostat, I see that I can either have the software hoobs or starling for it. If I do it myself, what raspberry should I get? will only run the software hoobs or Homebridge (I do not know which is better). My GF doesn't want to handle all this stuff, so my idea is to have something reliable and minimal maintenance. I have some Xiaomi sensors, cameras and smart bulbs and I have to reset them once a year. Recently, I bought some philips shades for sale (secure bulbs). I also bought eero pro 6 (and on sale), so my internet is good for smart home. I have the eufy battery bell, which is excellent and is compatible with homekit. I always have an old iPad at home, so initially I will use it has a "hub", but I can buy a homepod mini. My idea is to first test if the homekit works properly (and my GF likes it) and then, if all goes well, slowly switch from google to homekit. What we don't like about google is that we need to have a lot of apps on our phone to take care of everything. While on homekit it looks very simple and we can control with all our apple products in one application. One question, if xiaomi sensors are homekit compatible (not sure if they are) can they set an automation with this and the philips shade or different branded bulbs, for example?
