Switching to smart light bulbs with old projectors with outdoor motion sensor

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

Hello everyone! So I already installed a flood light system with a "bad" motion sensor in my yard. It is very straight forward, if there is movement, the spotlights turn on for a few minutes, then turn off automatically. Unfortunately, I can't control the lights, which I want to do. The motion sensor is pretty decent, but sometimes I just want to be able to turn on the lights manually. So my question is, if I changed the bulbs to smart bulbs, could I control the lights through the HomeKit, but still the original motion sensor of the cars would work and control the lights as usual? Has anyone had such a situation? Thanks for all the thoughts!
