Yesterday, an Amazon driver walked to my garage door, opened it using his cell phone, and placed a package inside without closing the garage door. Luckily we were home and were able to close it, but it felt really creepy! I have the MyQ opener connected only to the HomeKit, it is not connected using the MyQ application (although it was over a year ago). I also never used the Key by Amazon app and never connected the MyQ opener to Amazon. The thing I can't figure out is how Amazon knew I even had a MyQ opener. Looking at the recording on my HKSV camera, I see that the driver did not hesitate, he just got up and pressed a button on the phone. I don't use Echo accessories and the only Amazon-owned product I have on my network is an Eero router. My wife had ordered the package in question, so the email in my Amazon account doesn't match an email address I've ever used with MyQ. My best guess is that my wife had access to the iOS-enabled local area network for Prime Video, but that feels like a stretch. It seems that Amazon has the ability to identify anyone who uses a MyQ garage door, then opens it, even if it's only connected to the HomeKit and I've never given them access. I disconnected the MqQ WiFi hub until the Eero Pro 6 router supports HomeKit security. Has anyone seen anything similar? Can Amazon drivers really open garage doors that are only connected to the HomeKit?
