I have an Encode Plus. I don't have any HomePod or Apple TV, so I connect via WiFi. My battery only seems to last a few months before I need to replace it. I also notice that the Home app on my iPhone always says "Not Responding" but my home key still works. So I have a few questions: 1. I've read that I need a wire-enabled border router to get the wire network on (and WiFi off) and significantly increase battery life. Are Apple products the only ones that work with this? I see the Amazon Echo (4th gen) says it's a wire edge router, but I'm not sure if that means it will work. 2. I've also read that the Home app (homekit) won't work with the lock without a homepod or TV, but it seems it worked a while ago because I set everything up and I remember being able to control through the Home app. Something has changed? 3. If I use the wired network to connect to my lock and Wifi is turned off on the lock, will I lose the ability to control it via Alexa? I hope this all makes sense.
