I've looked at the options, but I'm trying to find the best ones at a reasonable cost.
I looked at Brilliant, but they don't control some weird HomeKit items. Items missing from my setup: iHome sockets, Hunter fans, Aqara curtains, Ikea Fyrtur blinds, etc.
I'm thinking of an iPad, but I don't have a Mac to run the Kiosk mode configurator. I don't want a lock screen etc. I also struggle with powering the device because all my walls are finished without back access. Maybe I could let a power line down if I mounted it on top of an existing outlet?
I'm curious what you're using.
One thing I have done is make sure that a physical switch is available for almost every function. I used several of the Runlesswire switches that connect to the Hue, but are configurable in the HomeKit. What I want is a smarter control panel that I can put in key areas that can control either a room or possibly all the "favorites".
