My brain has turned to muscle in these standards of the home network. I understand, they all have different advantages and purposes, but if we can't use a product with an existing Homekit system that we've already invested in a fortune, what's the point? I was very happy looking for simple smart locks like Yale or August. until I discovered this incredibly beautiful lock, [Kwikset Obsidian](https://www.kwikset.com/products/detail/obsidian-keyless-electronic-touchscreen-deadbolt). Kwikset has Homekit compatible models, but they look ugly to me and I have no idea why they wouldn't support Homekit on this state-of-the-art design. Looks like I could use it via Google Home or Amazon Alexa, or there are fixes that involve coding and Raspberry Pi to connect Zigbee or Z-Wave technology to Homekit, but I really don't want this complicity, I just want a simple system on that my mother and even my in-laws can use, tell me if something is happening to me. It really shouldn't be that complicated. What would be the easiest way to use Kwikset Obsidian locks or their Zigbee or Z-Wave system with Homekit? Edit: OK, I think I'll go with Z-Wave, considering the future possibilities and the momentum in the market. I would like a very simple solution for this, apart from the expensive Thinka which has just been unveiled and which has been distributed below recently.
