The first day of thanks to OG HomePod

Cupertino, November 26, 2021

I gave up Alexa in our house as a home controller a few years ago, but only at the beginning of this year did I get rid of my last echo. Why? Well, I use them fairly regularly to set up my shopping list, stopwatches, and see recipes. Well, I finally decided to use the whole HomePod using an OG in the kitchen as a daily driver for the last few months. As we've all experienced, OG HomePods haven't been experiencing their bright moments lately, and this thank you showed me what a huge mistake it was to try to replace my Amazon spy device with a HomePod. 1) shopping lists - has anyone from Apple gone shopping? Please do not try to set up a shopping list via HomePod. Sometimes he divides the articles into two lines, such as. "Italian and bread" ... quite sure that taking a nice Italian from the store would annoy my wife. 2) Playing my cooking playlist - I always play music while having fun, but trying to get my HomePod to play the playlist I set up for this Thanksgiving was just as hard to fry a frozen turkey. Siri could not play the playlist, and when it was played, it skipped songs on a regular basis. 3) Speaking of airplay - what the hell? Will these HomePods simply never work reliably? 4) setting a stopwatch - this was the proverbial straw. Setting a timer should not be more than a second or two. It should also not need internet access and should be local on the device and, oh, it is not a complicated task. Did Siri set even one stopwatch today? May be? But it was one or maybe two. The HomePod will answer "I have a connection problem" or "I can't do this right now" more often than "finished". Be serious man. Yes, these are three-year-old devices. Yes, I don't expect much. But I expect my $ 400 smart speakers that have no current alternative to do the basics. I have four OGs and seven minis. I tried to deal with them and Siri. On the HomeKit side, from iOS 15 I had problems after the problem. Just this morning I woke up that "107 accessories do not answer". Looks like Apple wants to use a different HomePod as a home hub ... and why do you use a HomePod as a home hub when I have a Wired Apple TV? Anyway, I'm sorry for my mess, but I ended up with OG HomePods for any reason other than to play audio tv. Happy turkey day, homekitters from the USA
