This week, on the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts discuss the first possible viewing of Apple HomeKey, the new Aqara product line, and gather the best HomeKit-compatible motion sensors.

Apple has announced its new HomeKey feature with iOS 15, but we haven't seen the product launch with it yet. He may have had the first sight, as a still unannounced padlock from Schlage mentions him on his Home Depot list, which has since been removed.

Since the last episode, Aqara has made several new announcements about products, such as a simulated ceiling-mounted skylight. Time will tell how many will arrive in the United States

Most of the episode was spent on our ongoing series of HomeKit recommendations. This week's category is motion sensors. Stephen and Andrew go through the models they tested and why it would be better to wait a while before choosing one.

We discussed several options from major brands such as Eve, Fibaro and Hue and what is the difference between occupancy and motion detectors.
