The launch of the iPhone 12 in term, despite the coronavirus disruption, says Bloomberg

Cupertino, March 20, 2020

Apple is slated to launch iPhone 12 in the fall, despite previous disruptions caused by China's factory shutdown following coronavirus outbreak, claims Bloomberg.

In a new report, sources in the supply chain claim that Apple's upcoming iPhone models, all of which are believed to offer 5G cell phones, are in the process of being delayed, largely due to Apple's iPhone production schedule.

While engineers spend most of the first quarter of the year traveling to Chinese factories to carry out their pre-production inspections and registrations, the sources of mass production of the devices do not usually start until May.

Apple's next flagship phones, with 5G wireless capabilities, are still scheduled to be launched this fall, though this is partly due to the fact that mass production won't begin until May, people said. They asked not to be identified by discussing the problems of the private supply chain.

Today's report follows analysts speculate the iPhone 12 line, which includes four new devices, may not arrive until the end of 2020, the usual September launch window is missing.
