The Logitech Circle View Doorbell 8.12.15 Firmware

Cupertino, October 5, 2021

My Circle View Doorbell has never worked since the day I purchased it. I've tried all the troubleshooting techniques recommended by both the community and Logitech support. I've rebooted it, reset it, had an electrician upgrade the power supply to my doorbell, moved my access points, purchased Eero to replace my current WifI network, added a wifi repeater next to the doorbell, reconfigured my HomeKit hubs, the list goes on and on.

But none of it ever worked. That doorbell has gone offline multiple times per day, every day, since the very first day I've owned it. And then Logitech released the 8.12.15 firmware and suddenly *the thing actually works*. It hasn't gone offline one single time since upgrading it. It's a miracle.

So I want to thank Logitech for finally fixing this thing — at least for some of us. I've been very critical about this product. I truly felt it was the worst smart device I've ever owned. But now it's fantastic. And I'm grateful for that. I just wish there was a little bit better communication regarding these potential known issues.

It would have been nice if, instead of pushing me through all these silly support hoops (one of which was to "reset modem router along with all home pods and Apple TVs"), they admitted there could be some known problems, in some circumstances, for some users and they were working on fixing it. I would have been a heck of a lot more patient about all of this, and a lot less negative about the product, even if it still took 6 months to fix it.
