The Logitech Circle View ringer overheats in the shade

Cupertino, May 19, 2021

After comparing all the smart ringtones out there and reading the reviews of the Logitech option powered by HomeKit, I bought the Circle View ringtone. And I * deeply regret * my decision. Does it work well with your iPhone, HomePods, Apple TV and even the existing bell in your home? Sure you do. Does it do a nice job of identifying people and animals? Yes, sir. Is it nice to get these features without having to pay a monthly fee? Categorical. Is it constantly overheating and disconnecting for hours on end? ** OH MY GOD YES. ** My mistake was to ignore all the reviews here and elsewhere. We live 5 minutes from Cincinnati, where the high temperature so far this year was 81º. Our bell receives a few hours of direct sunlight a day, if it's actually sun, of course. How bad could it be? Bad. Monday was 63 ° and overcast, but Logitech was offline almost all afternoon and even in the evening. Yesterday it was 80 ° and sunny, our bell was offline most of the day. Same today. I took the thing off his face to let it cool down several times in the last few days, and the back of this is ** HOT **. I mean, scald my hot hand. It doesn't seem safe at all. I'll try to return this thing to the Apple Store and buy an Arlo as I should have done for a start. But if you are thinking of buying a Logitech, please do not. Only after they address this very obvious problem (could a black sound living outside get hot?
