The new Amazon TVs will support Apple's AirPlay 2 and HomeKit

Cupertino, November 5, 2021

(Pocket-lint) - Amazon's own TVs, including Omni and 4-Series Fire TVs, will soon support Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.

With AirPlay 2, it will be easier for you to play content on your TV from an iPhone, iPad or Mac. And with HomeKit integration, you can control your TV with Siri or the Home application, simplifying their inclusion in smart home routines. Amazon has already released AirPlay 2 and HomeKit to select "Fire TV Edition" TVs from Toshiba and Insignia, but interestingly, they still haven't reached some Fire TV devices, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

So it's only interesting to note that Amazon is ready to announce support for its new TVs, according to The Verge, but is silent on older and lesser-known devices. The new Omni series has built-in remote field microphones, Amazon said, and supports hands-free Alexa voice commands and has 65- and 75-inch models that come with Dolby Vision HDR. But there are also sizes smaller than 43, 50 and 55 inches available with HDR10.

The Omni series is the top choice, starting at $ 409 for the 43-inch model and going up to $ 1,099 for 75 inches. It includes features such as Dolby Vision (65 and 75 inches), hands-free microphones always turned on for Alexa, and two-way video call support (appears later this year).

The lower Amazon Fire TV 4 range from $ 369 for 43 inches to just 55 inches for $ 519.
