The second user cannot change the settings at home

Hi, folks, my partner and I recently bought a HomePod after using Google for the past year or two. When I set up the house, he established it as the owner and added me as a resident. Checked the box that allows me to add and edit accessories. However, they cannot change the grouping, press the settings button on the accessories, or change cameras or scenes. I tried to turn off my HomePod, take it out, and add it back to my home and recycle my device, all to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
