HomeKit is in my eyes the best way to automate your home. But it continues to frustrate me as this is still limited to AppleTV, where the hardware hasn't been updated in years and HomePod, which isn't a very useful speaker for me, because I have a state-of-the-art audio system. The iPad is super buggy because it has a HomeKit / battery-based hub. I would be so grateful if Apple opens this up a bit with either a lower cost device or a new AppleTV, allowing integration into devices from other manufacturers ... exactly what makes it easier for people to adopt the full Apple experience.
