Let's say you have an automation to unlock / unlock the door as you leave / arrive at a location, confirm this action every time.
Theory: You can use a dummy $ 10 HomeKit light dedicated to controlling your lock.
Instead of using the locator for location automation, add the light instead. Then create another automation that if the light is off, the lock is locked. Do the opposite to unlock as well.
