Tip: warm the bed before going to bed

Cupertino, November 7, 2021

Requirements - a heated bed sheet (whatever it does as long as it plugs into an outlet) - a vibration sensor (not motion): look for Aqara (requires a hub or homebridge) - a smart outlet (anything) - thermometer smart (any) If you're already an experienced user, you know where this is going. For the others, here's a little intro; I usually live in a place where dust would accumulate quite quickly in the bedroom. My partner complained and the trick was to let the window open and dust quite often, change the sheets and everything. So the problem has become the kind of thing I look at when I move into a new house. The downside: going to bed in the winter is like refrigerating, so I bought a sheet that I connect to the wall and turn it on and it heats up. The partner left before that, good for me, it's just for one person hahah. Later, I bought a HomeKit plug and now I call it "bed warming" and I can ask Siri to turn it on. I then bought a vibration sensor, put it between the sheet and the mattress and basically, the system knows when I go to bed. I later bought a cheap smart thermometer and here is the use case: «When I go to bed and the room temperature is below 20C, heat the bed» Which translates to «When the bed sensor detects movement, at night, when I am at home, check the temperature , turn on the plug »As a safety, it stops when I leave home. In order not to wake up, there is a second automation that stops it after 10 minutes. And also, in the eve application, I decreased its sensitivity, so I really have to kick it to trigger it. A smart scale would do a better job, but that doesn't exist in my knowledge. So now, I can leave the window open, because the bedspread holds back the heat, I also made my idiot robovac, so that he could clean the floor every day. I will also consider ikea Starkvind to clean the air. It's a trick similar to making a smart kettle.
