Touch to confirm the solution (no false switch)

Cupertino, November 1, 2021

I recently bought a Level lock, which is my first HomeKit device, and I expected a feature like Approach to Unlock to be an option, but unfortunately it's not on Apple devices for security reasons. Many people solve this problem using a fake HomeKit device and some automation, but I thought this isn't as stylish and if you're like me, you don't have a fake backup switch. So I created a solution that works entirely in the HomeKit application in a single automation. It works by detecting when you get home, then waiting until you're close enough to connect to your home wifi, where it then unlocks your lock or whatever you want to do (the secret is to convert the automation into a shortcut). ** Create an automation in the HomeKit. Call it something like AutoUnlock. Set it so that automation is triggered when someone gets home. ** ** Next, convert it to a shortcut. ** ** Enter this in the shortcut: ** *** Repeat *** * * 50 times ** ---- *** Get *** ** Wi-Fi ** *** network *** ** Network name ** ---- *** If *** ** Name ** * ** is *** ** your-network-name ** -------- *** Set *** ** your device ** ---- ---- *** Stop shortcut execution *** ---- *** Otherwise *** -------- *** Wait *** ** 12 seconds ** ---- *** Finish if *** *** Stop repeating *** ** Stop running shortcut ** I hope this will help someone! And sorry if this method is already known.
