Unpopular opinion: HomeKit sucks because it doesn't support PoE

Cupertino, March 21, 2024

Connecting via ethernet should be the customer's choice, and not allowing it in HomeKit for cameras is just an enabler, despite any risk. She's my bastard of network. I'm switching my G2H Pro camera (which are great hardware by the way) to UniFi because I'm tired of HomeKit loading slowly, it's just pathetic. When I want to see what's happening on my cameras, I want to see them instantly and not in about 5-10 seconds. And I want live view on all cameras, not some stupid snapshots.
