Update your décor with Nanoleaf Lines smart lights compatible with HomeKit

Cupertino, October 25, 2021

Nanoleaf has launched the latest from its catalog of smart modular LED panels compatible with HomeKit. After a parade of modeled product launches - triangles, squares, hexagons - you can now buy Nanoleaf Lines for $ 200 and use them to make all sorts of bright shapes. And you can sync them with the action on the screen or with music.

The light, color-changing bars connect at 60-degree angles to create any shapes and patterns you can dream of. The dual color areas of the backlit bars can add a lot of color and shine to your wall or ceiling, as you can see in the photos above and below.

Nanoleaf Lines: over 16 million colors

A large socket with a 14.7-foot cable powers each line, with each light bar emitting 20 lumens. Nanoleaf lines have a color temperature range from 1200K to 6500K. They can display more than 16 million colors, Nanoleaf said.

You can connect up to 18 lines for each power supply. Then use the Nanoleaf application, a remote control on your device or voice control via Siri or another compatible voice assistant to control them. The lines work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Easy installation

As with Nanoleaf wall panels called Shapes, Canvas and Elements, you can install lines using pre-assembled, double-sided tape. This makes their setup quite easy if you have a specific design in mind.

The Nanoleaf application includes 19 preset dynamic RGBW lighting scenes with changing colors. Alternatively, you can create your own scenes. Lines also works with Nanoleaf music viewing technology, synchronizing with the songs.

The lines integrate with the mirror function of the Nanoleaf screen to synchronize your lights with the colors and animations on the screen. For this you need the Nanoleaf desktop application. Or you can use a TV with an HDMI connection.

With Nanoleaf Lines, you can have a pretty groovy ceiling.

Compatible with HomeKit

Nanoleaf's entire smart lighting line works with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT. This allows you to control, reduce, and change your design through a smart home routine or voice commands.

In addition, Nanoleaf Lines and other company panels can act as a Thread Edge Router to connect the Essentials line of bulbs and light strips to your network without using a third-party hub.

Thread technology and the Matter standard

Thread is a key technology in the Matter smart home standard, which will unite smart home devices and platforms, enabling interoperability. Nanoleaf said it designed Lines with "Matter in Mind" and will work with the new standard through a software update next year. Eventually, any Thread-compatible device will connect to a Thread network using a Nanoleaf border router, the company said.

Nanoleaf has indicated that it will launch black and pink skins to customize the look of the flexible lines and connectors to help them run in the corners later this year.

Price: Starter sets (9 lines) cost $ 199.99; Expansion packages (3 lines) cost $ 79.99.
