Using homekit as an alarm.

Cupertino, January 10, 2022

I can see how to place sensors at each of the points of entry into the house, for example using Eve's motion and contact sensors. I can work out the automation for triggering the alarm - make all my homepods go crazy with loud sounds and start an external siren using a smart socket etc ... However, there is an easy way to give guests access, for for example, to go to a dry cleaner while I'm out. I don't want to give them access to me "at home". Is it a matter of using an old, spare iPhone with a lock code and a simple I have home automation as a button? There are other hacks for this or tutorials that someone could point me to. I should mention that it is based in the UK. YiA
