Currently, I use IFTTT to trigger a CASA smart plug to turn on a poor ground humidifier when the humidifier of an Ecobee thermostat sends a low humidity signal (below 40%) to the smart plug. Likewise, when the humidity is higher (45%), it sends the signal off. But in the last two winters, IFTTT has not worked at all reliably. Humidity low to 37% is very uncomfortable. I end up triggering it manually. But while you sleep, this is a problem. I remade both the IFTTTs from scratch (because the app updates and the iOS definitely mess things up!) And I even tried the 45% and 50% setting. But it is not reliable now. * So I was wondering ... * Can I set up HomeKit / Shortcuts automation so that HomeKit does the same thing? Ecobee and CASA are compatible with HomeKit. I need HomeKit to accept Ecobee triggers and, I think, shortcuts to send it to the Smart Home plug. That's a lot. Same as IFTTT, but no. I went through shortcuts and HomeKit and couldn't find anything. Calls to AppleCare and ecobee were not received. ** I made ** a humidifier on and a humidifier off Quick order. If I could connect this to the Ecobee humidifier as a trigger, it would be! Thanks!
