Soon after LG launched support for these Apple technologies on its 4K 4K 2019 TVs, Vizio did the same. Vizio is one of the companies that has been confirmed to support AirPlay 2 and HomeKit on its TVs earlier this year. To this end, it is launching a firmware update for supported TVs.
Vizio today released an update to its SmartCast 3.0 software that adds support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. However, the update is not available for all compatible TVs. The company warns that the update may take a few months to be delivered on all compatible models.
AirPlay 2 will make it easy to play content from a Mac or iOS device on the largest screen in their home. They can use HomeKit to control smart objects and even control the TV with Siri voice commands.
Vizio has an advantage over other manufacturers that support these features. The SmartCast TVs associated with this system date back to 2016, so these models will also benefit from this update. It's pretty impressive that Vizio has decided to extend this experience so far and this is something that will please its customers.
