VOCOlinc T-Guard HomeKit Deadbolt Review

Cupertino, October 5, 2021

I just wanted to give up a quick review of the VOCOlinc T-Guard Deadbolt underneath to save people some heartache. In May 2021, I ordered the VOCOlinc T-Guard screw from Amazon for $ 109. It worked great for 4 months until recently. The keyboard stopped turning on or responding to touch. All other aspects of the dead screw worked like Siri, geoframe, etc. I just couldn't interact with the keyboard anymore. After a few quick searches of Amazon reviews, it seems that a few other people had this problem as well. The screw, before the keyboard problem, was actually really great. The fit, finish and functionality were ideal. It would unlock every time I reached about 500 feet from my house by geofencing, I reacted relatively to Siri commands and felt solid, but unfortunately, for some reason, it seems to have a keyboard defect. Finally, I contacted Amazon, who informed me that it was no longer under the manufacturer's warranty and they could not even reach VOCOlinc for further guidance. Amazon went ahead and demanded the return of the item and chose to return my money, fortunately. I hope this review will help someone make a future decision about the lock. It's cheap and may be worth the risk to some, especially when it worked, it was great, but unfortunately, reliability is key to me when it comes to a latch on my house. I will post below a link to the exact version I bought from Amazon.
