Wake Up Light - Application for creating artificial automations for sunrise for HomeKit

Cupertino, October 6, 2021

Hi, folks HomeKit, I want to show you an app I made: Wake Up Light ([https://wakeuplight.app](https://wakeuplight.app/)). Wake Up Light automatically creates automations in HomeKit to make your lights disappear in the morning or dim them in the evening. Change the color / temperature of the lights at the same time to simulate an artificial sunrise / sunset in the bedroom. If your lights are bright enough or you are sensitive to light stimulation, you can create an awakening light with it - hence the name. I wrote this app because I couldn't get up in the morning because our bedroom is pretty dark, so this app helped me, especially in the dark half of the year, to have a natural morning routine. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store and comes with a paid premium subscription. The free version allows you to create a single automation in your home with the desired wake-up time and other settings. Do you use wake-up lights? What features would you like to see in Wake Up Light? I thought I'd add support for arbitrary accessories like switches or music so you can turn up the volume in the bedroom as a wake-up routine. I'd like to associate it with the system alarm, but the Shortcuts API feels too limited not to create a new alarm every day. I could use some information from HomeKit lovers here: What else would you like to see? Feel free to check the app in the app store: [https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1467538196?pt=560569&ct=/r/homekit&mt=8](https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1467538196?pt=560569&ct=/r/homekit&mt=8)
