What do you think about the planned wear and tear of smart home gadgets?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about it, but how would you feel if there was some sort of planned wear if not already in these smart accessories. From the point of view of a smartphone, I can understand that because the technology is constantly improving and the software will not be able to keep up with the hardware in the future. In addition, Apple has the best support with permanent updates of the operating system for up to 7 years. But imagine that a smart light bulb does not work until the LED actually burns. I saw it with Google, interrupting their products.
