I’m looking to start using HomeKit after I move in this summer. I could start with some Hue bulbs and probably a smart thermostat (Ecobee is moving here?). Maybe some switches to control the fans. But I’m wondering if I should do this right after the move or if I should wait for more devices to be Thread compatible. I don’t know enough to know if I should replace a lot of hardware to get from zigbee to Thread.
What is the estimated Thread timeline / how will existing devices be updated? (asks as someone extremely new to smart home stuff)
