What is the power state and name for the switches

Cupertino, May 28, 2020

Hi all,

I searched the internet and can't find an answer, so I'm asking here. If you have a switch (such as a socket or a virtual homebridge switch), I'll try to determine exactly what "Power State" and "Name" mean. I'm trying to make a relatively complex shortcut in HomeKit, but the options are very limited compared to Siri shortcuts.

When I get the switch status and choose the Power status, then I create an If statement that says "If [switch] State power. "What does that mean? On? Off? Is it" Otherwise "Off?

When I get the status of the switch and choose the name, then I create an If statement that says "If [switch] Name [is-containts-has any value etc. etc.] Text ". I could say" If [Name] [is] on “Would this work? Or does it refer to the actual name of the switch?

Thanks in advance for your help.
