I have a DIY HomeKit alarm system that I control with a hidden smart button. In a niche above the hidden button is a HomeKit light strip. When the system is set to "AWAY" mode, the LED turns red, indicating that the alarm is active. When the system is set to "HOME" mode, the light returns to the usual warm accent color. The problem I have is that the alarm system is set to have a 15 second delay. It allows you to leave or enter the house before the alarm goes off. Therefore, the light does not change for 15 seconds after it has been pressed. During this time, you have left the house, rendering the red light indicator worthless. Is there a way to trigger the light change when the button is successfully pressed and then trigger a 15 second timer before activating? Happy to set this up via HomeBridge / Controller app / Aqara etc etc
