Where to start with home switches ...

Cupertino, October 24, 2020

I'm sure this is a matter of personal preference, but ... I'm wondering where to start with home switches ....

I have a basic setup and I was mainly focused on home audio. I have Apple TV in every room, either for TVs, or for audio and audio bars. You have a HomePod in the main bathroom that controls my bedroom and offers music for the bathroom / bedroom. I added a few light strips and VOCOlinc devices, such as flower buds and lamp bulbs. Smart ceiling fan in the bedroom and some ecobees for HVAC.

A few years ago I installed (non smart) variators for the kitchen and living room. Honestly, it doesn't seem like such a big deal to use my panting "hands and feet" to use them when needed 😁

So here's my question - where do people start this addiction to a smart home?

It seems logical to me to start with the transformation of lights that are less used but necessary, such as - switched exterior light lamps, garage lights, entrance lights in hallways.

These are the ones that are most often left on and would benefit from remote control and programming / automation.

Also children's rooms since ... I became my father and scream at all the lights on.

Then switch to the more ordinary but easily accessible rooms, through which I practically go anyway.

Very interested in the feedback that people started with this!

Thanks
