First of all, I am a passionate user of Apple, as well as a great HomeKit user who managed to fit over 20 HomeKit accessories in my 900sqm apartment. This is nothing record-breaking, but for the size of my apartment, it's a lot. Also, all my devices are connected directly to the wifi without bridges, which was handy. I decided to buy the Philips Hue system because I like their accessories, such as the wall dimmer, which looks like a wall switch, but is wall mounted with plans to buy more accessories once I tried it. While setting up the Hue system, I realized that it would not let me set up a system unless I first added one of their bulbs, which I found strange. After I finished and bought a light bulb, I added it and went racing. I added the dimmer accessory I bought and it was good. I even managed to add it to the HomeKit and make the dimmer switch to control any HomeKit scene or device I like. But now I can't turn off the light bulb and I can't get the light bulb anymore, because all my lights have HomeKit switches. I can leave the light bulb disconnected if I like, but Apple at home will constantly complain about a disconnected device. In general, I feel that Phillips Hue is trying to create his own ecosystem, which depends on their light bulbs and piggybacks on the HomeKit. Thoughts are welcome
