Wil Shipley joins Apple as Senior iOS Home Application Engineer

Cupertino, October 4, 2021

He [announced it on Twitter](https://twitter.com/wilshipley/status/1442612921117253642):

> Today is my first day at Apple!
>
> My new title is “Senior iOS Home Application Engineer,” so I guess I need to learn iOS! HA HA j/k please don’t fire me my first day.

Why I care and you might too – from [his Delicious Monster bio](http://www.delicious-monster.com/us) (emphasis added):

> Wil started programming when he was 12, taking college courses in BASIC and Pascal and generally making himself unpopular with the undergrads. He **founded The Omni Group** while a student at the University of Washington. He designed and co-wrote OmniWeb 1 & 2, and OmniPDF. Under his leadership Omni's products won a record **five Apple Design Awards**, and Delicious Monster has won **another three.**

Who knows when or if we'll see a benefit from this, but it gives me a _sliver_ of hope.
