Wireless router upgrade question

Cupertino, May 25, 2020

Currently, I have a lot of smart devices running in the standard ISP modem / router (Rogers Hinton).

The current stack is: 4k Apple TV, a PS4, Sony 4k Smart TV, Bose soundbar, 2 Homepods, 4 iOS devices, 17 Hue lights, an Ecobee thermostat, Augustlock and 2 Macbooks.

I'm curious if I would see an improvement in performance (apart from just a range) if I bought a router from a third party and what would it be. And also, if there are cool Homekit features, I miss them.

I'm also interested to know which are the best Homekit friendly routers these days.

Thanks :)
