Sorry for the basic question. Google wasn't very helpful. I would really like to keep everything in HomeKit if possible. My issues in the past have been the insistence that I have to install the device manufacturer's app... and make an account... and set up another ecosystem in THEIR app... just to update. Is anything changing with Matter? For example, I'm looking at Eve Smart Outlet which has matter out of the box. Do I need to install the Eve app to update the firmware? Thanks!
