Yesterday he had a smart light. He woke me up this morning. Is there a way to record HK commands so I can find out what WTF is doing here?

Cupertino, August 30, 2020

I received a multicolored VOCOlinc bulb yesterday, I like it. But I don't like waking up at 6:45. I stopped him shortly after. It lit up again around 10 AM.

I have no set scenes. I have no automations related to the bulb. I've never experienced any of my devices unpleasantly turn on or off.

Was it probably caused by the VOCOlinc application? I used the app to control the bulb yesterday, while checking its non-HK functionality. But after it started 6; 45 AM, I made sure there was no pre-programmed light program.

So how could this have happened? And is there a way I can connect and then analyze network traffic to see if this is ordered by HK somehow? Is there a way to record the status of HK items throughout the day? If I can register the status as well as register HK commands, then I should be able to tell if the future false activations come from HK or VOCOlinc.

And no, I didn't create a VOCOlinc account, because fortunately you don't need to do trivial things, such as using the app to update FW and control devices.

I will take this light bulb out of my bedroom until he convinces me that he knows how to behave.
