Get ready for RCS in 2024 and iOS 17.2 Personal Voice on the Homekit.Blog Podcast

Cupertino, December 1, 2023

Apple announced RCS support for 2024, Apple Music Replay is strange this year, plus Personal Voice has arrived, and your hosts rank some of Apple's 2023 hardware on the Homekit.Blog Podcast.

RCS comes to iMessages Perhaps even more surprising than Apple finally announcing support for RCS is that the company has done so in such a way that it isn't the silver bullet Google was hoping for. It's absolutely not surprising that even after support begins, iMessage will keep its blue and green bubbles.

Listen to the latest Homekit.Blog Podcast. Somewhere between the surprise of RCS and the obviousness of keeping green and blue bubbles, this year's Apple Music Replay could come. This is the Spotify-like service that provides Apple Music users with stats on what they've listened to over the past twelve months. However, all three of this week's presenters independently discovered very special statistics. Some can be explained by poor music choices over the year, some by multiple users on the same account, but others are just plain wrong.

But speaking of three hosts, there's a reason why Stephen Robles is joined this week by both Wes Hilliard and William Gallagher. It's Stephen's last show and we wouldn't let him go without applauding him for the hundreds of hours of Homekit.Blog Podcast he's produced. The Homekit.Blog Podcast returns next week, and you'll hear from more Homekit.Blog contributors in the future.
