Get Siri and Thread support for your sun blinds with Eve MotionBlinds for just $166 (originally $200)

Cupertino, December 5, 2023

If you've ever wanted to automate the amount of sunlight in your home, a discount on today's Eve MotionBlinds could make that possible. Right now, Amazon is dropping the HomeKit accessory to $166.56 shipped after you clip the on-page coupon. This is $34 off the usual $200 price tag and is the best discount we've seen this year. It's $4 less than our previous Black Friday listing, and certainly one of the first price cuts yet. We've previously discussed what to expect at Homekit.Blog, but we've also detailed this below the fold. Eve MotionBlinds brings smart home control to your existing blinds with Siri support and scheduling in tow. This kit works natively with HomeKit thanks to both Bluetooth and Thread connectivity, allowing you to set up schedules and automations with the rest of your stuff. The whole thing is equipped with a motor that slides into the tube of your existing sun blinds, replacing the chain mechanism you probably use now. Today's Eve MotionBlinds discount is just as well timed as they try to take the spotlight away from the new SwitchBot Curtain 3. This recent release offers a more affordable version of automating your blinds, but with the downside of being much less is aesthetically pleasing. It offers a different take on controlling the natural light in your home by mounting a small robot on your curtain rod that can pull back the blinds in the morning or close them in the evening. The entire assembly now works with Matter, meaning you'll find HomeKit support out of the box, just like the Eve counterpart above. It costs $90 on Amazon today, and is also more affordable for those who don't need the full blind treatment. Personally, I like the Eve MotionBlinds much better, but if you don't have that kind of blinds or want to spend less than $100 on a smart home upgrade, the SwitchBot Curtain 3 is one of the better alternatives out there. Features of Eve MotionBlinds: Enjoy the convenience of smart sun blinds: upgrade your existing sun blinds and easily control them via app or Siri and sustainably increase energy efficiency in your home. Effortlessly set schedules on Eve MotionBlinds that automatically open and close your blinds according to your daily routine – independent of iPhone and home network. Use scenes to control all blinds and other Apple HomeKit-compatible devices at the same time. With HomePod mini, HomePod or Apple TV as a home hub, you can control the sun blinds both at home and on the go.
