At CES 2020 earlier this year, Belkin launched a new smart Wemo WiFi plug with HomeKit support in an ultra-compact design. As with most CES ads, the accessory was teased at the time, and was not released. However, starting today, the new Wemo WiFi Smart Plug is now available to order.
The Wemo WiFi Plug Smart fits any socket with the key feature of being small enough that it also does not prevent other sockets. This new accessory is a follow-up to the well-known Wemo Mini Smart Plug connector, which is 45% larger but slightly more accessible than today's new Smart WiFi Plug.
Wemo Wifi Smart Plug contains support for HomeKit, as well as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. No additional subscriptions or hubs are required, as the device itself connects directly to your WiFi network.
With its sleek, compact shape - 45% smaller than the Mini -, the Smart Plug fits into any electrical outlet without obstructing other outlets. This allows you to stack an additional Smart Smart or other device in the same outlet. Wemo WiFi Smart Plug allows you to control electronic devices right from your phone or tablet. Smart Plug uses your existing home WiFi network to ensure wireless control of lamps, fans and more - no subscription or hub required.
Smart plugs are a useful addition to the smart setup of your home and can help give non-smart devices control of your smartphone. For example, you can pair a smart plug with something like a fan or coffeaker to integrate that accessory with HomeKit configuration and automation.
The new Wemo WiFi smart plug is now available from Belkin for $ 24.99 or you can pick up a three-pack for $ 49.99.
