One of the new HomeKit functions in iOS 14 is the so-called adaptive lighting, with which the color temperatures of smart lights are automatically adjusted to the time of day. Popular HomeKit accessories maker Eve today announced that its Eve Light Strip is now the first to support the new Adaptive Lighting feature for iOS 14.
For strangers, Apple describes the adaptive lighting in HomeKit with iOS 14 as follows:
Lightbulbs that change color can be automatically adjusted throughout the day to maximize comfort and productivity. You can relax into the morning with warmer colors, stay focused and be alert at noon with cooler colors and relax at night by removing blue light.
With the Eve Light Strip, this means that the color of the strip can automatically adjust during the day, with everything being managed directly in the Home app itself. The color temperature is set automatically every time it is switched on and with smooth transitions, explains Eve.
In addition to supporting Adaptive Lighting for the Light Strip, Eve reminds users that the HomeKit Secure Video compatible Eve Cam has also received some notable updates thanks to iOS 14. This includes Apple TV integration, face recognition, and activity zones.
The Eve Light Strip update is available through the Eve app for iOS. Just open the Eve app, choose Settings, choose Accessories and look for the streak of light. Then tap Details to update the firmware. The Eve Light Strip is available on Amazon and Best Buy for $ 79.99.
