Netatmo's HomeKit doorbell could be just around the corner

Cupertino, July 17, 2020

A long-awaited HomeKit product in the works is Netatmo's "Smart Video Button". It was announced for the first time at CES 2019 and we are patiently waiting for news regarding the launch of the sharp-looking smart bell. Now it looks like a launch could be very close ...

It's 2020 and I've really only seen one light HomeKit ringtone with Yobi B3. There is Robin who launched the first HomeKit ringtone on the market, but this is more of a commercial ringtone with a price of $ 500 + price.

The Netatmo Smart Video button is captivating because it comes with a clean, modern design, includes support for HomeKit, no subscription fees, works through wired settings (no batteries to worry about charging) and comes from a company with a solid reputation for smart home devices. It will be an excellent complement to Netatmo's external security camera and smart indoor security camera.

Other great features include 1080p resolution, 160-degree field of view, two-way conversation, microSD card slot to record your own movies, and also the ability to save images to Dropbox or an FTP server.

Viewed by 9to5Mac reader Jason H., Netatmo recently updated the product page with a new installation guide that includes a 7-minute YouTube video and a downloadable guide.

It is compatible with 8-24 V low power wired cables as well as 230V systems.

Easy installation in 5 steps:

    • Install the chime module next to your current chime
    • Remove the existing doorbell
    • Screw the wall mounting plate
    • Connect the wires
    • Attaches the video button to the mounting plate

Netatmo has also provided a compatibility tool to ensure that your current cable ringer configuration will work with the HomeKit-enabled smart video button.

With both the new installation page and videos being streamed live on its website and the compatibility check being also available, we hope that a launch of the new HomeKit ringtone is imminent.

What do you think? Are you ready to choose the Netatmo smart video button when it launches? Or do you have something special? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Thanks, Jason!
