IKEA TRÅDFRI: New retro and frosted glass lamps available now

Cupertino, January 16, 2022

We could already report about the new lamps from IKEA. Now the new lamps are available both in the online store and in local furniture stores.

With the TRÅDFRI system, IKEA offers an inexpensive entry into the smarthome and supports Apple HomeKit in addition to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The only requirement is the one-time purchase of the €20 gateway. After that, you can equip your home with lamps, switches and motion detectors at a reasonable price.

New retro lamps with curved filament

Brand new in the program IKEA has two retro lamps with curved filament. Depending on which lamp you want to equip with it, you can choose between a candle-shaped model with E14 socket or the classic shape with E27 socket. The color temperature of both versions is 2,200K, which is a cozy warm white.

The new lamps are as cheap as usual, provided you already have the Gateway in use. While there are already some HomeKit-enabled retro lamps with E27 sockets, the E14 socket is without competition so far. However, other manufacturers have planned similar products.

Decorative frosted glass lamps launch

The new frosted glass lamps are not meant to be hidden behind a lampshade either. The two large lamps each come with an E27 socket. You just have to decide whether you prefer the tubular or spherical model.

Both lamps have a luminosity of 470lm. The color temperature can be adjusted between 2,200K and 4,000K, which is a cozy warm white and a neutral white.
