Introducing the New ProLine Video Doorbell from Robin Telecom

Cupertino, March 27, 2024

Netherlands-based Robin Telecom today announced an update to their Robin ProLine video doorbell, improving many features of the original. If you've been following HomeKit News for a while, you might remember that Robin was the first company to actually release a HomeKit-compatible video doorbell in 2019. While that was a claim to fame at the time, the specifications would be considered sub-par by many contemporary standards, with a resolution of 720p. However, the update brings 1080p, along with continued compatibility with HomeKit Secure Video, which was added to their other products in January 2020. What still sets the Robin apart from other video doorbells is that it can be wired, so you can connect it directly to your network without having to worry about whether the WiFi signal is strong enough to reach your router. The new model also has three simultaneous full HD streams, something that no other video doorbell is capable of, according to Robin. In addition to the improved video resolution (and not before…), the new model features ambient lighting that makes the panel visible in the dark. The nameplate, which is custom etched by Robin for the customer (at an additional cost), is also backlit. Along with the video camera and backlight, there is a large speaker that aims to make your voice much clearer to potential visitors.

To top it all off, the new doorbell will be available in any combination of four different finishes: Arctic Silver, Space Grey, Sunset Gold and Midnight Black. The Robin ProLine HD is available for pre-order, although at just under €1500 this won't fit your average budget.
