Nanoleaf, a lighting company, has announced the release of its new line of Essentials lamps that can replace standard lamps in ceilings. The company has also partnered with Umbra to introduce a series of products. The Essentials Matter GU10 and Essentials Matter Recessed Downlight are compatible with Matter-supported smart home platforms like HomeKit. They can be added to a HomeKit setup with a Matter hub, such as the HomePod mini. The lights are Thread-enabled, allowing for improved connectivity with other Thread products. Nanoleaf's recessed downlights can replace standard downlights, while the GU10 bulbs can replace fixtures that use this bulb style. Both lamps support 16 million colors and various white temperatures. They can be controlled through the Nanoleaf app or the Home app and can be automated to turn on at specific times or work with other smart devices. Multiple lamps can be grouped together to adjust the lighting in entire rooms. Nanoleaf has also collaborated with Umbra to create two new smart bulbs compatible with Matter. The Cono Portable Lamp features a unique design and a built-in battery lasting up to five hours. The Cup Lamp is a desk lamp with a USB charging port and a cup base for holding desk accessories. Three GU10 bulbs can be pre-ordered for $50, while the downlights cost $35 each. The Cono Portable Lamp is available for pre-order at $95, and the Cup Lamp will be available in early 2024 for $130.
