Nike unveils the new Liverpool home kit for the 2024/25 season in a unique and innovative release

Cupertino, May 2, 2024

The Liverpool 2024/25 home kit has been released, in Nike's latest attempt to produce kits for the Reds. With Liverpool set to switch to Adidas from the 2025/26 season, Nike have been big and bold with their latest home kit in the hope that this will be the one that will live long in the memories of fans. In one of the first Premier League kits to be unveiled ahead of the new season, Liverpool will wear something bolder than what they have worn on the pitch in recent years - with the new kit reminiscent of their last league title. The Liverpool 2024/25 home kit features a unique pattern throughout.

Liverpool's latest league title, in 2019/20, came in a kit with pinstripes on the front of the shirt. In an attempt to achieve a similar success, Nike has once again introduced pinstripes to the shirt, but this time in a striking chrome yellow color as part of a unique geometric pattern. A classic hallmark of the 1980s, Nike has drawn inspiration from the past to create the start of a new era for the club as Jurgen Klopp departs after nine years at the helm. This is a combination of modernity mixed with tradition, with plenty of uniqueness thrown in for good measure. Turning the liver bird emblem yellow (along with the Nike Swoosh) is a subtle touch reminiscent of Graeme Souness and Co.'s conquest of Europe, with the Reds back in the Champions League after a season's absence.

Nike is also daring for the collar, with a relatively invisible neckline that will sweep across Anfield in the 2024/2025 season. Liverpool's new home shirt stands out from other designs and looks nothing like anything produced in recent years. Sure, the France away shirt for Euro 2024 also features pinstripes, but this Liverpool kit has gone one step further with a geometric pattern and unique collar. Plus, the yellow on top of the red base is just gorgeous - and it doesn't seem as festive as when clubs, rightly or wrongly, include gold in their efforts for the new season.
