Officially announced Eve Extend – In August, preorders

Cupertino, July 17, 2019

We originally revealed last month on the presence of the long-considered moribund device known as the Eve Extend, and now Eve has made it official with a devoted page on their site to the item. It seems they're going to be prepared to take pre-ordersbeginning in August, with a cost of $49.95/€49.95 expected to be available shortly after.

Eve gives a straightforward explanation of how it operates:

Eve Extend connects to Eve accessories straight beyond the scope of your iPhone or home hub and makes them accessible throughout your Wi-Fi network. Now, there's no barrier in the manner, and there's no place off-limits. Whether you check the humidity concentrations in the cellar or activate your garden sprinkler, every accessory from Eve is within reach.

So, of all the accessories that Eve makes, the one that seems to create the most of this extender would be the Eve Aqua, which would be outside for almost all uses and typically the furthest from either a Home Hub or your iPhone. The configuration includes finding a place in your Wi-Fi network anywhere and then connecting to a power outlet. Securely add Eve Extend to the HomeKit installation code by tapping your iPhone camera and letting the Eve app go through the installation phase. Currently, strangely enough, only two phones will be compatible with Eve Extend at launch although the remainder of their Bluetooth product line will certainly be added shortly afterwards. The Eve Aqua and the Eve Thermo are these equipment.

The Eve Extend is only designed to work with Eve Bluetooth accessories and is also limited to eight phones, but given the popularity of Eve products, this will only give them a new lifetime lease for many dedicated users, so regardless of the fact that you can't use other Bluetooth devices from other producers, it's bound to discover many happy clients.
