Pre-Order the Twist Smart Home Button by Flic for Your Home

Cupertino, September 12, 2023

Buttons are the optimal choice for a seamless smart home experience. They eliminate the need for wiring, home renovations, or shouting at a speaker to make things happen. With just one tap, you can dim the lights, turn on your TV, adjust the thermostat, and lock your front door. Introducing the Flic Twist, the latest addition to the smart home button lineup from Flic. Priced at $88.88, this button offers a unique twist with its ability to be pressed, double-pressed, twisted, pushed, and twisted again to control any connected device. The rotary function is especially useful for tasks like dimming lights, adjusting speaker volume or thermostat temperature, and controlling sun blinds – actions that ordinary buttons struggle to achieve. While the Flic Twist operates via Bluetooth LE, similar to the Wemo Stage Scene Controller, it surpasses its competition in terms of compatibility. Additionally, its dial function resembles that of the Philips Hue Tap Dial, which can be used with Apple Home for various functions. The Flic Twist complements a range of smart home products, including Philips Hue, Lifx, Ecobee, Spotify, Ikea, and Sonos. It is also compatible with popular smart home platforms like Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT. Originally launched on Kickstarter in 2021, the Flic Twist is now available for pre-order with a discounted price of $80. Shipping will commence later this month. The button comes with a magnetic holder for easy attachment to walls and operates on two AAA batteries. One drawback is the cost and the need for a separate hub to operate the Flic Twist beyond a Bluetooth connection with your phone. However, Flic is introducing a more affordable hub option, the Flic Hub Mini, priced at $40. This hub powers the Bluetooth LE Flic Twist and other smart home buttons from Flic.
