Reviews of Migo Ascender, Qi2 Gear, and TP-Link Tapo Camera

Cupertino, April 1, 2024

In this episode of HomeKit Insider, Migo launches the Ascender stair climbing robot, lots of Qi2 news and HomeKit camera reviews. The MIGO Ascender was also launched on Kickstarter this week. This is a Matter compatible robot vacuum cleaner and mop for stair climbing. This will be extremely beneficial for multi-story homes and is a better alternative to purchasing multiple robots. It costs $849 for the early bird price and will increase to $1,500 when available. Qi2 was a hot topic this week as we saw multiple announcements. We initially saw that Apple added Qi2 to the iPhone 12 via the iOS 17.4 update. That puts it in line with the iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models. Mophie has released its first Qi2 devices, starting with the air vent, followed by the 3-in-1 stand and battery pack. Finally, it looks like Belkin's PowerStation Mini+ will be available soon. It's already listed in the Australian Apple Store. In addition to Qi2, we also saw Robin launch a new version of his ProLine HomeKit Secure Video doorbell. It upgrades the video quality to 1080P, has new mood lighting and a better speaker. Outside of the news, Wes reviews two HomeKit Secure Video cameras from TP-Link.
