A new HomeKit device from Meross is now available. This time, the manufacturer wants to appeal to parents in particular (but not only). The sleep aid comes with a night light and integrated speaker.
Meross has one of the widest product ranges of HomeKit devices. So it's no surprise that the manufacturer now offers a sleep aid for babies and people with sleep disorders.
The colored night light is intended to take away babies' fear of the dark and can be dimmed. Spontaneously, we think of linking it to a motion detector or contact sensor: If a parent is in the nursery, the night light can shine brighter.
Meross itself states the education of the child as a possible use case: The current color should signal whether it is time to sleep or to get up.
In addition to the night light, soothing sounds can be played through the integrated speaker. You can choose between white noise, fan, rain, ocean waves, thunder, running water, birds, forest sounds, music box and other sounds.
This is not only useful for babies. People with sleep disorders also often use soundscapes to help them fall asleep better. The sleep aid can be controlled directly on the device as well as via Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and the automation service IFTTT.
