Sonos Arc Ultra: Car Key Enhancements for Expanded and Automated Shortcuts with a Click

Cupertino, October 21, 2024

In this episode of the HomeKit Insider Podcast, Clicks co-founder and CMO Jeff Gadway joins us to discuss Shortcuts automation, the new Sonos line, and more. This week's guest co-host is Jeff Gadway, who founded Clicks keyboard case alongside Michael Fisher – Mr. Mobile – and Kevin Michaluk – also known as CrackBerry Kevin. The viral hit was launched earlier this year at CES 2024 and is gearing up for another launch for the iPhone 16 series. One of the recent additions is a companion app that features several shortcut automations. This topic formed the bulk of our episode, which highlighted how you can leverage devices like the Clicks keyboard case to execute smart home automations and shortcuts. Additionally, we have compiled a range of resources for smart home shortcuts.

Alongside our discussion about shortcuts and Clicks, we also made headlines this week. The major news was that Sonos has unveiled its new Arc Ultra soundbar and its Sub 4 companion woofer. Both products are now available for order and come with several enhancements. In other news, Apple Car Key is expanding its compatibility with other automakers. Code found in the Wallet app indicates that Audi, Polestar, and Volvo will receive support for select models. With Android 15, Pixel phones and tablets have introduced a new interactive screensaver, which enhances smart home control and surpasses Apple's StandBy mode. Signify has once again updated its Philips Hue, adding several new effects, and ensuring that the "scattered" animation now works with all Hue gradient products.

Finally, we discuss Apple's ambitious plans for the smart home in 2025, which appear to be expanding. These plans reportedly include a new HomeOS, more Matter devices, and a new smart home accessory.
