After a tease at CES, Sony has officially unveiled its range of Bravia XR TVs that are compatible with the Apple TV app, AirPlay 2, and HomeKit-enabled smart homes.
Five new models round out Sony's range of smart TVs, with features such as New XR Clear Image for a fully immersive home theater experience. They include X95L and X93L Mini LED, X90L Full Array LED, A95L QD-OLED and A80L OLED.
While the TVs are based on Google's Android TV system, each model supports the Apple TV app, AirPlay 2 for wireless streaming, and Homekit for controlling various smart home devices. They are also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google services such as Assistant Voice Search.
In addition, Sony has Acoustic Center Sync for each television set, which synchronizes the TV's audio system with the center channel of a compatible Sony soundbar for immersive sound.
Other than the X93L, the TVs have a new XR Clear Image feature to improve noise reduction and clarity with motion to reduce blur. Using frame tweeters, Acoustic Multi-Audio+ on the X95L boosts the sound to match the image on screen.
Meanwhile, Acoustic Surface Audio+ is a feature of the A95L and A80L models, which use actuators that vibrate to produce sound from the entire screen, in perfect sync with what's playing on screen.
Gamers will also find exclusive features in the 2023 Bravia XR lineup with Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode for optimal picture quality while gaming and streaming on a PlayStation 5. And a new Game Menu allows players to adjust settings for Motion Blur Reduction, VRR, and a Black Equalizer to increase brightness in dark areas.
On the A95L, a Multi-View option allows users to view walk-throughs and gameplay guides side-by-side or use the Screen Size feature to focus on gaming with a smaller, focused screen.
