Tesla Shortcuts: A New Smart Home Control for HomeKit Insider

Cupertino, August 28, 2023

In this week's episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts walk you through the new Brilliant panel, Tesla's Shortcuts, and more smart home news.

Brilliant introduced a new version of its smart wall panel last week. It still supports HomeKit, but now plugs directly into power through a wall outlet compared to in-wall installation.

Tesla has also added some smart home-friendly features. Your Tesla can now respond to various Siri Shortcut commands such as flash the lights, honk the horn, open the frunk, set the temperature, and more that can be built into your HomeKit scenes.

Samsung has a new version of its popular Frame TV. The new model comes with more than a hundred original Disney animated artworks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mouse Mansion.

We finally got our first look at Hue cameras this week. In terms of functionality, there's not much to discover, but they seem to have a nondescript black cylindrical housing.

We had two mini-reviews this week, taking a closer look at the BoostCharge Pro with an integrated Fast Charge watch puck and the T-Series Moment lenses.
